Hands-On Projects at JRC
CROP Hunger Walk: Each year, Judea Reform is a co-sponsor of the CWS (Church World Service) CROP Hunger Walks in Durham and in Chapel Hill. The CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide efforts to raise money to address poverty and hunger issues in the local area, across the country and internationally. This year, we are looking for volunteers to work with the religious school to increase our participation in the walks. CONTACT Chip Carnathan
Meals on Wheels Christmas Dinner: JRC members donate, cook and deliver a special home-cooked meal to Meals on Wheels clients on Christmas Day so that the regular MOW volunteers can celebrate the holiday. CONTACT Helene Bosworth
NC Pride Parade
Habitat for Humanity Builds: We build in Durham on the third Thursday of the month from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. No experience is necessary and tools are provided.
Mitzvah Day: A congregation-wide day of service held each Spring.
Social Action Sundays: A monthly gathering of members to produce:
- Casseroles for Urban Ministries for whom we also serve dinner on the fourth Sunday of every month.
- Blankets for Project Linus.
