INCLUSION: INTERFAITH FAMILIES AT JUDEA REFORM

Goals

  • Continue to educate the JRC community regarding inclusive religious and cultural practices within the traditions of Reform Judaism.
  • Provide definitions and explanations of Jewish practices to help people of all faiths feel welcome during Shabbat Services and life cycle events.
  • Identify issues that interfaith families face at JRC and work to resolve them.

Accomplishments

  • Providing "A Visitor's Guide to Services," a booklet with definitions and explanations of worship practices at JRC. Available on the Shabbat table and the JRC website.
  • Making available "Kavod V'nichum," a document which explains Reform Jewish mourning rituals, cemetery guidelines, and available JRC staff support.
  • Providing information for interfaith families and individuals about lifecycle events.
  • Creating an interfaith information link on JRC's website on topics relevant to interfaith families or individuals at JRC.
